Which hCG Diet is Best?

There are several ways to do the hcg diet protocol.  You can follow Dr. Simeons Pounds and Inches, you can follow Kevin Trudeau’s The Weight Loss Cure or you can go to a local clinic in your area. Search hCG diet clinics to find a clinic close to you.

Dr. Simeons and Kevin Trudeau is a DIY while the hCG diet clinical route is a supervised plan.  Either way you will lose weight.

You have to be comfortable as to which is the best hCG diet protocol for you.  IF you are a DIY, please consult your doctor regarding your health and well being before starting this or any diet.  Know where to get your hCG diet supplies from and follow the diet as laid out for optimal weight loss.

hCG Diet Preparation

There are a few products that are good for use with the hCG diet protocol regardless if you follow Pounds and Inches, The Weight Loss Cure or go the clinical route.

hCG Diet Do’s & Don’ts

Do

Don’t

  • Use products containing oil, lotions, cream on skin or hair
  • Drink diet drinks, sodas or sugar free drinks
  • Use make up that contains oils, Bare Escentuals Make up is and excellent choice
  • Use fats, oil, margarine in cooking or ingest
  • Use or eat sugar or gum
  • Eat foods with known starches or sugar free foods

hCG Diet Tips & Tricks

Having a binge eating feast or cheating on your hCG diet protocol is like restarting, but sometimes  we just want something to satisfy a craving or something different.  To avoid breaking your hCG diet plan and abate those cravings or to just break up the strictness of the diet, occasionally you can have the following;

Tips to avoid a cheat

  1. Sugar Free jello
  2. Diet soda (go easy)
  3. Popsicle with 0 fat, sugar and calories
  4. L-Glutamine for cravings
  5. Drinking water
  6. Ice chips (the best ice is SONIC ice!!)
  7. Adding fiber with Miracle Noodles.

Tricks to stay on hcg diet plan

  1. Keep your hcg diet food on hand at all times
  2. Make food a few days out to avoid waiting till you are at hunger to decide to cook
  3. Eat your food slow
  4. Use a small salad plate vs. a huge dinner plate.  This creates a visual and psychological effect

Tips for a stall

If you find you are having a hCG diet stall (a stall is not losing for several days (4 or more pounds in a row) and need to get moving to stay motivated try the following;

  1. Switch up what you are eating, if you find your only eating steak try chicken, if you eating chicken try fish.
  2. Add additional water to your current intake
  3. Try Corn Silk tea, Parsley tea, or Alpha tea.  These are natural diuretics which may help you release additional water. There are additional natural diuretics
  4. Cut the breadsticks or melba toast
  5. No eating out for awhile
  6. Cut diet drinks
  7. Check your hCG diet protocol rules and make sure you are eating as prescribed (mixing veggies, 100 grams of food, etc.)
  8. Mix your fruit up and don’t have the same 2 fruits on the same day
  9. Avoid beef for a few days
  10. Cut out diet cheats or treats
  11. As a last resort if all else fails, eat 6 apples for 1 day enough water to satisfy thirst
  12. Try on of these hCG diet stall breaker meals, Apple Day or Steak Day

Tips for eating out while in hCG diet protocol

If you have to eat out, grilled chicken salad works best .  Needless to say without the dressing or cheese or croutons.  You may probably be served more than 100 grams as you won’t be able to weight it, but it’s the best choice.  Some fast food places offer fruit or other healthier choices.  As long as the fruit doesn’t have preservatives or additives they would be fine to eat.

hCG Food Shopping List

Depending on which hCG diet protocol you follow your list may vary, this is a general hcg diet food list.  Check your hCG diet food list to ensure what you can or can’t have.

Eating organic is the best way to do the hCG diet protocol,  however it maybe cost prohibitive.  When Dr. Simeons developed the hCG diet and wrote Pounds and Inches during a time when hormones and pesticides were not widely used.  And he was in another country which has vastly different guidelines on foods.  However, you can still loss weight without being organic it maybe slower but it is possible.

  • Lean Meats:

steak, ground beef, chicken breast, veal

  • Seafood:

crab, lobster, shrimp, prawns, whiting fish, tilapia, flounder, haddock other lean white fish

  • Seasoning:

sea salt, thyme, basil, garlic, onion powder and others that you like

  • Veggies:

fresh or fresh frozen spinach, various lettuces, asparagus, broccoli, cucumbers, oions, tomatoes, chard, beet greens, cabbage

  • Fruit:

apples, organs, strawberries, lemons, ½ red grapefruit

  • Misc:

Melba toast, salsa (no sugar added), organic apple cider, sugar substitute, teas

hCG Diet Stallers and Craving Causers

There are some foods or additives that may cause people to stall on the diet.  This is a YMMV because we are all individuals with different food sensitivities.  You have to judge for yourself and observe how your body chemistry responds.

  1. Splenda
  2. Equal
  3. Caffeine (in some not all people)
  4. Sugar alcohols
  5. Ascorbic acid and or Citric Acid (found in sodas)
  6. Egg yolks (arachidonic acid is found in the yolks)
  7. Too many sodas
  8. Too little water
  9. Not having variety in foods

If you stall even for one day try Bragg Apple cider before going to bed, 1 TBS in 32 oz of water it will do the trick. Good luck.

OMG this is exactlly what I have been looking for. YOU ARE AWESOME!!! Thank you for all the information that you have provided. This makes me feel a little more prepaird to start the diet and loose some weight. I only have about 25lbs that I would like to get rid of, and I think that all your wonderful informaion will help me out perfectly! Thanks Again. :-)

@ Keith: I would take a multi vitamin and did. B-12 isn’t need it is suggested the collided silver is how some mix the hCG for oral as it won’t interfer with the hCG. B-12 aids in weight lose and energy levels. A lot of people do injections with B-12.

@ Curious: Did you read the manuscript? If you had planned a trip why start the diet prior to the trip? Dr. S recommends you do the diet for a minimum of 20 days prior to a break. You can do an unforeseen break but really it is best to read the manuscript for details as there are various rules for how many days you plan to break.

Hello,
I have a 2 day cruise planned in on the 15th day of the HCG diet, am I able to pause the diet? if so, would I still take the injections or not? I don’t think I will even be able to transport on the plane.

I am getting ready to start hcg drops do I take the drops on my first two days that are supposed to be my gorge days?

@ MoneyMagnet: No benefit other then giving you something that is crunchy. Really if anyone stalls that should be the 1st thing to go. So your fine with our without!

I just started with a clinic and they did not include the breadsticks or melba toast in my eating plan. Is there a benefit that I will be missing? Should I just add it in myself?

I don’t know about GreenTeaHP, Green Tea, YES. Why not just drink Green Tea and add Stevia?

Can you drink GreenTeaHP on this HCG? I have ran across websites that say it actually helps you loose weight on this diet but then one of the ingredients is fructose? It has 8 calories per pixie.
