Cheating on the hCG Diet Protocol?

Has anyone followed the leptin results? Leptin is an amino acid that is produced in the body’s fat cells. Leptin is often called the obesity gene because as leptin increases, your body fat increases as well. However, while studies have shown that decreasing leptin will decrease fat, leptin as a weight loss drug has not been found as effective in humans as it has in mice.

Then, would having a cheat day on the hCG diet be a good thing for your long-term hCG diet weight loss goals? Well, it seems if you want to avoid the effects of leptin on fat, hunger and cravings, combined with the effects of a VLCD that can also cause physical hunger, cravings and a slow metabolism stopped with the hCG diet protocol cycle off periods, then YES. A planned cheat day every so often could be, in the longer run, better for you on the hCG diet protocol.

But then the question is HOW to cheat on the hCG diet protocol. As we know, when hCG is coursing through our systems, we can gain weight pretty quickly. Therefore, the key is to eat good carbs and good fats (omega 3s, olive oils), vs. junk carbs and fats. Feeling satisfied and full will avoid the feelings of hunger and deprivation.

I have been taking the hcg drops since last Saturday (one week and 2 days). As of last Thursday, I lost 13 pounds in that 5 days. Then Friday, nothing, Saturday, nothing, Sunday, nothing, and this morning, nothing. What the heck? I was kicking @ss. What happened? I made no changes from the first 5 days... I don't want to sould like I am complaining about 13 pounds, but come on, nothing in 4 days???
@Bernard, A stall is 4 days no inch lose or weight loss. Have you taken your body measurements? If so and you are really stalled, try a hCG diet stall breaker.
Help. My scale seems to be stuck 131.4 im only loosing .2 pounds a day. Im getting frustrated not sure what to do. I did cheat about 2 days ago and gained weight. Since then ive only lost .2 pounds per day. Im not sure what to do. My friend thats doing the diet tells me as long as im loosing weight I should be fine . Im down 47 pounds please help. Christina
@Christina, You cheated. There is nothing to be confused about that happens with a cheat. It can take 3-4 days to start losing again. The hCG Diet doesn't suffer cheats very well. Get back on track eat clean and the weight will come off again.
I have been on hcg drops for 2 months now and i have lostr 30 pounds. I love coffee but only if I can have a little sugar and cream. Is it safe for me to have a little sugar and cream in my coffee once a day without gaining weight?
@althea baker, No sugar and NO cream. Stevia and 1 tablespoon of milk per day.
Help.... I have lost all the weight I needed to and I am on my 20 day and I want to stop the diet. I know I have to do 3 days without the drops. If I stop now will I gain all my weight back? Help Help!!!!
@Laura, Go into P3 now and you will be fine. Just follow that then stabilization NO Sugar No Starch then maintenance.
@Dez, I had the same question, thanks for the response. I'm concerned though that pounds and inches says it takes a minimum of 23 days with the hcg to properly reset the hypothalamus. Will stopping phase 2 early undue the progress I've made?
