Foods That Stall hCG Diet

DOESN’T THIS GRAPHIC LOOK DELICIOUS?

It is pretty obvious that candy, sugar, donuts, cakes, and similar foods will cause you to stall on the hCG diet. But what if you are doing everything right, not eating junk, and you are still stalled? What if you have done the hCG diet apple day and hCG diet steak day? What if you are drinking 8-8oz glasses of water and then some? What if the scale only moves with those apple days and steak days, and the second you go back to your hCG diet food, you stall?

Then, my friend it’s time to dig into what you are eating and find the offending foods.

Are you using Splenda or Equal? Splenda and Equal are great to sweeten up your hCG diet tea, and add to foods. Plus, you can cook with Splenda, but too much may stall you on the hCG diet. Consider ditching Splenda for Stevia. Stevia is a not only a natural product, but it also has a dual function as an appetite suppressant.

But I’ve already stopped using Splenda and switched to Stevia?

Are you eating eggs as part of your hCG diet food? The egg yolk is a little fat ball, and fat has 9 calories per gram. But that isn’t the really bad part about egg yolks. Egg yolks contain arachidonic acid, which is a fatty acid that is good in small doses, but too much can promote inflammation. Some dieters, who may also be sensitive to arachidonic acid, stand a good chance of a stall in their dieting efforts.

But I only eat egg whites. So what else could stall me on the hCG diet?

Humm, you’re tough nut to crack. Okay moving on.

Are you eating a lot of manmade foods? Unfortunately, food manufacturers like to add a hint of sweetness (sugar) to make seasonings and foods more appealing to the masses. Check ingredients for the following, as they are sugar by another name.

• Corn Sweetener
• Corn Syrup or Corn Syrup Solids
• Dehydrated Cane Juice
• Dextrin
• Dextrose
• Fructose
• Fruit Juice Concentrate
• Glucose
• High-Fructose Corn Syrup
• Honey
• Invert Sugar
• Lactose
• Maltodextrin
• Malt Syrup
• Maltose
• Maple Syrup
• Molasses
• Raw Sugar
• Rice Syrup
• Sacchalose
• Sorghum or Sorghum Syrup
• Sucrose
• Syrup
• Treacle
• Turbinado Sugar
• Xylose
• Sugar Alcohols
• Maltitol
• Sorbitol
• Maltitol Syrup
• Hydrogenated Starch Hydrolysate
• Xylitol
• Isomalt
• Lactitol
• Mannitol
• Erythritol

WOW huge list!

Okay some of the ingredients I’ve been using are listed. What else could stall me on the hCG diet?

Well, SODA. I know you drink it because you are bored to death with water. BUT Soda is probably the #1 staller for most people on the hCG diet or any diet. Not only does it have Equal or Splenda, but also ascorbic and citric acid.

Ascorbic acid is a sugar acid often referred to as Vitamin C. Vitamin C is good, but in the synthetic form as often found in soda, it may cause you to stall. Of course the food coloring, caramel and such doesn’t help in soda, but there it is.

The citric acid can be a sensitivity issue for some people, and too many sodas can = too much citric acid.

Anything Else?

Well, good old fashion salt. Yes, you need salt. Salt, or sodium, aids in helping the body maintain homeostasis, the body’s delicate chemical balance. Too much salt will cause you to retain water, which shows up on the scale as a gain or no loss. Again, if you’ re into soda vs. water, you may want to reconsider your love affair with soda. If you are heavy handed with seasonings, then you may want to cut down on your use of salt, and check your man made seasonings for salt.

This is a lot!

But, we are not done. Another big offender on the hCG diet that causes stalls is not eating a variety of foods. Avoid eating the same meat, vegetable, and fruit for lunch and dinner, and then turning around and replaying it for lunch and dinner the next day. You have to keep variety in the hCG diet menu.

This is it right?

Well, that is tricky. You are an individual and some things may stall you and not others, so you may have to play with the allowed hCG diet foods to see what stalls you. The above are the more obvious stallers. Start from there and rule out different things while you are actively dieting.

Another thing,

Check your body fat measurements, as well as your weight. You should do this from the start, but sometimes the body may not lose weight, but the inches are coming off, aka FAT or vise versa, and sometimes everything is 100% perfect in your diet, and suddenly, a woosh happens. This is called the Woosh Fairy, and she is fickle at passing out her weight loss dreams. Read about the Woosh Fairy, it may help you understand, and know you are not alone. And she, the Woosh Fairy has a poem!

@Dez, I dont understand why you say Homeopathic doesnt have HCG in it. a lot of people are using HCG and losing. Example, a few I know bought from sites and have had very good results. Can you tell me why is some good sites selling this product have good results? Yes some are scams. But heh, that is up to you to do the research. cheers :)
@Herhim, If you do your research you find several things. 1. It takes 125 iu minimum for hCG to release fat. 2. You need a prescription to buy any homeopathic medication that uses a drug that requires a prescription. FDA states this fact. So yet again, homeopathic stating it contains hCG is a lie. 3. Water, Alcohol, amino acids and vitamins . . . are not hCG. 4. hCG protects the body from muscle wasting when you are on a 500 calorie diet. Anyone can go on a 500 VLCD and lose weight, it's is the hCG that protects your body, release the abnormal fat, prevents muscle wasting and resets your hypothalamus. Dr. Simeones did a lot of research 50 years ago if you use less then 125 iu your will not achieve the therapeutic levels and your body will not be protected. Bottom line test your product for hCG with a pregnancy test strip. Sure you can use a watered down fake product claiming to contain hCG or you can use real hCG that actually tests positive for hCG. All homeopathic hCG is a scam. Read #6 from FDA http://www.fda.gov/ICECI/ComplianceManuals/CompliancePolicyGuidanceManua...
Hello again, I'm Stalled AGAIN!!!! This is the 2nd time in 35 days. I have tried the apple a day with no success. I am frustrated, to know that I have this opportunity to loose quick, and then stall for 4 days at a time. I am trying to keep my spirits up, I just don't know what else to do. I have never cheated not even once. I have read this page over and overI know it inside and out. Would appreciate any advice you could offer.
I stopped the injections 10 days ago. How many carbs are permitted on the low carb diet the first two weeks after injections? I am eating the right amount of protein, veggies, no sugar, no starches, however, I'm feeling tired all of the time, just not feeling good, weak... I have the taste of stevia in my mouth all of the time. Please help!
@ Cindy: Dr. S. just says No sugar No Starch, 1500 cals but on low carb it's really not a set amount it's how your body handles them that determines how many you should have in your diet. You may want to try Mediterranean style diet or 40/30/30 40% Protein, 30% fat and carbs. Sugar/Starches carbs won't make you have energy. Don't know what to do about the Stevia taste in your mouth. Never heard of this. What kind of Stevia are you using? Maybe you should switch??
Hi there, sorry to be asking so many questions, Wondering if you could tell me your opinion on the use of these shiritaki noodles(miracle noodles). Will they hamper your weight loss? Even though they have no calories??
@Tracey, Tracey, my husband and I have been on the diet for over three weeks. We introduced the noodles last week and they have had NO EFFECT on the diet. They are filling, taste great (when prepared correctly), and they add fiber. Just so you know, if you have a local Asian market in your area, you can buy the noodles for under a buck per 10 oz package. Good luck!!
@ tracey: Miracle Noodles are find for the hCG diet. Fiber. Here is the post on Miracle Noodles I did so you can read all about them and the benefits of the noodles. And right now till Nov 24th they are on sale!!! Code on the post.
I have a question about B-12: I heard it is an essential supplement to be taking while on the hCG diet. Trouble is it is hard to find a decent liquid form without a hidden form of sugar. Is it crucial that I take B-12?
@Rita Loudermilk, Yes, it is crucial that you take the B12 everyday. It took me forever to find a liquid one without sugar. They have one at Whole Foods for $17, the brand is "Now" and it's called ultra b-12 (orange label). You can also get one B12 chewable pill at advanced weight loss that is approved for the hcg drops diet. The pills are $10 for 30 and they are called b12 -active, brand "integrativetheraputics, inc" (white lable, chewable cherry flavor). If you dont have access to either of these places, you can find them on ebay too. A regular liquid B will not have the same benefits as the B12.
