hCG Diet Stall Breakers

Stalling on the hCG diet can be frustrating. While Dr. Simeons defines an hCG diet plateau as 4 days of no weight loss or an inch loss, for the hCG dieter who is averaging 1/2 – 3 pounds a day it can test your will and determination to continue the hCG diet.

Dr. Simeons's manuscript only recommends one way to break an hCG diet plateau. BUT hCG dieters have found other ways to break a stall to add to Dr. Simeons diet plan.

Apple Day

Apple day consists of eating nothing but apples for one day. You eat 6 large apples and drink water all day. That’s it. No other fruit, no vegetables, or protein.

Steak Day

Drink plenty of water. In the evening, eat a huge steak with only an apple or a raw tomato.

Herbal Teas

Dr. Simeons suggests a diuretic. That may be a bit drastic, and if you are not under a doctor’s supervision, may be hard to get. Some herbal teas act as natural diuretics and will produce the same desired effect, the release of water. • Cornsilk Tea
• Green Tea
• Dandelion Tea
• Fennel Tea
• Parsley Tea

You can add more tea to your hCG diet, or do a fast with tea. Parsley Tea in particular is a very powerful natural diuretic. It contains vitamins A and C, and has more beta-carotene than a large carrot. A cup of minced parsley has more vitamin C than eating 2 oranges. A cup of minced parsley has more calcium than a cup of milk and 20 times as much iron as liver. Parsley is also a natural breath freshener, thanks to chlorophyll contained in parsley.

Diuretic Foods & Seasonings

These foods listed are not only natural diuretics, but are hCG diet friendly foods. You may want to change your hCG diet menu after a stall by incorporating these foods.

• Apple Cider Vinegar – great for a salad dressing
• Asparagus – improves waste removal
• Cabbage breaks up fatty deposits, especially around abs
• Lettuce – aids in metabolism and flushes toxins
• Tomatoes – aids in metabolism, release water and flushes waste
• Garlic – aids in breakage of fat
• Horseradish – aids in metabolism, breakage of fat
• Caffeine – aids in waste removal and suppresses appetite

hCG Diet Stall Tips

• Weigh your food raw/uncooked. 100 grams of meat should be weighed raw, not cooked.
• Refocus your diet, re-read the manuscript, and make sure you are having foods in the right amounts.
• Do not eat more than 1 kind of fruit a day.
• Do not eat more than 1 kind of vegetable in a day.
• Discontinue the breadsticks or Melba toast.
• Decrease or discontinue use of artificial sweeteners (AS).
• Increase Water intake. Water is another natural diuretic that is often neglected. Drink 2 liters or more a day.
• Decrease excess salt. Diet soda is a double culprit with AS and sodium. Try making your own hCG diet soda to control sodium and sweetener.
• Exercise — heavy exercise can cause water retention; walking, T-Tapp, Yoga and Pilates are good lighter exercises. Weight Training, Cycling; or Running may be too much while on the 500-calorie hCG diet and cause water retention.
• Make sure you measure your body as well as hitting the scales. If you have stopped losing, the inches may be coming off.

I have been on the HCG for approx. 30 days, which was recommended to me by a doctor's office OR because I am 40 lbs overweight to extend that to 43 days TOPS!! My question is my first week, I lost 12 lbs, miraculous, huh......since then I've struggled losing much more than 19 lbs. total. I have not cheated once, did the apple day however, I peeled the apples, still did not go to the a little constipated but decided I should be eating all my apples with the skin on for roughage......still not getting to that 20 lbs mark. I realize I will have to go a second round but is there anyone out there that is having these same struggles? I'm tempted to buy the highly acclaimed "poop (whatever)" shown on the internet to get my insides cleaned out, but scared that I will be disrupting the hypothalmus process......please email me Thanks for the help!!!

@Dez, Do you mean in place of lotion. and can you give a few suggestions on how you will use it to cook.
@Sandra, use on the Forman, use it in salads. And yes in place of lotion. Won't absorbe into skin.
This is not just about losing "weight" this is about losing "abnormal" fat so maybe some of you have a misguided idea of how much you are suppose to weigh? Results are dependent on how often you dieted in the past, how out of whack is your body, this process is about restoring "order" to the hypothalamus that controls your weight loss process. We all want results but theee most important part is sticking to Dr. Simeon's instruction of always no matter what staying on the 500 cal phase for 23 days, then no hcg for three days but still consuming only 500cals before moving into eating what you want minus sugar and starch. You are on a "journey" to repair a lifetime of dieting so read his protocals over and over and understand thoroughly what this is all about and stay "focused". This is the smartest thing I have ever done and yes I stall, my first round I constantly seemed to not lose for a day, this round Im on day two of no loss but I look amazing and the inches have sure come down a lot. But my doctor told me my number 166.5 still put me in the obese range? A personal trainer said those charts are being done away with because we are all so different a person at a desk job who isn't exercising isn't going to need as much weight as a personal trainer who is puming iron regularly. Look in the mirror, take your measurements as others have suggested the scale is not the only tool you need. Also my understanding of the steak day is it is only done during the phase where you are eating again but no sugar/starch and you gained more then 2lbs of your LWD. The apple day is for a legitimate stall of no loss for more then 4 days during the 500 cal phase. Think about it an apple is going to flush, its like taking a shower on the inside of your body, it will move the water, the bowels and freshen up your skin! Don't do a steak day during the 500 cal phase do the apple day......are you adding lemon to your water that also helps purge..... This process is a big commitment no doubt about it but oh so worth the effort, hang in there folks, you are on your way to becoming a more healthier you and oh one more thing to mention....some mixtures of spices have msg or altered amino acids in them/sweetners are horrific on the hypothalamus and all should be avoided for life. You are better off with real white sugar than a sweetner they do not make you slimmer by reducing the caloric intake they knock the hypo out and make you fatter. Read Kevin Trudeau's material on walking your way to health he is a bit extreme but there is much wisdom in his pages....
@Teresa, Yes as stated Steak Day is for P3 but you can do it on P2. Protein is a diuretic as well as an apple and lemon that is the principal. No I would have to disagree that "you are not better off with white sugar", that is processed. Stevia is best out of all the sweeteners, organic honey and agave but the later two not allowed at the P2 or P3 phase.
I donot have a period. I had a hysterectomy.
I thought steak day consist of a large steak and an apple. I am in the middle of cycle one. So is it possible that I will lose additional weight?
