hCG Diet Phase 3

Depending on which hCG diet protocol you are following, this is a very critical phase. It's critical for Dr. Simeons followers and critical for The Weight Loss Cure followers, and for those that take a little from each and combine the two hCG diet protocols.
If you lost the weight you wanted and don’t need another round, this will be your maintenance phase. If you have more to lose this, it will be part of your first round of the hCG protocol.
Again, if you’re just gathering information about the hCG diet for weight loss, you may want to read hCG Diet Phase 1, then hCG Diet Phase 2 before reading this post. If you have been waiting for us to finally write this, then here it is!

Dr. Simeons’ hCG Diet Phase 3

Now that you have lost weight, this becomes the critical phase for two reasons. One, if you have lost all the weight you wanted, you want to maintain your loss. Two, if you have more to lose, you want to maintain your loss and continue to lose. Either way, hCG diet phase 3 is where you reset the hypothalamus.

The rules are pretty easy. Eat whatever you want, watch your weight, stay within 2 pounds of your total loss. If you gain more than you should, do an apple day or steak day. BUT the reality is that eating whatever you want is not the smartest way to maintain your loss.

If you eat cookies, fast food, chips, dips, pizza, cake, and cookies, the weight will come back. Liposuction, Lap Band, and Gastric Bypass people all regain weight if they ‘go back’ to eating the way they did before.


If you lift weights, you will gain muscle, then the 2 pounds may not apply either because muscle weighs more than fat. This is why taking your measurements is just as important as scale weight.

The reality is that maintaining your weight loss is an Inconvenient Life style change and a commitment to that change. The hCG diet protocol gives you a huge advantage because you have learned a lot about portion control, a different way of cooking, a different way of nourishing your body, and you have substantially decreased your taste for sweets. All these things are to your advantage as your real challenge commences. Your Life Style Change.

If you have more to lose, you will stay on phase 3 for 3 weeks but wait various times between your next round of oral hCG or hCG Injections. For example, when you end your first round of the hCG protocol, you stay on hCG diet phase 3 for 3 weeks but wait 6 weeks to restart.

When you end your second round you wait 8 weeks to restart the hCG diet protocol.  And when you end your third round of the protocol, you wait 12 weeks before starting your fourth round. This comes from the Pounds and Inches manuscript and is strict Dr. Simeons' protocol.

You may see around the web, on other sites, or at your hCG diet clinic, people who do 3 weeks between rounds or even not stopping until they have lost the weight. This is not meant to debate what is right or wrong but simply to give you Dr. Simeons’ method.

The #1 question that persists with this phase of the hCG diet is “What Do I Eat?.” If you have read a previous post, After The hCG Diet, then you know it’s not an easy question to answer, and Dr. Simeons didn’t elaborate. In general, the best choices keep company in the low carb realm (this includes low carb variations such as South Beach, 40/30/30, etc.), eating in moderation, and eating healthy Omega 3 fats and mono-saturated fats, like olive oil.

Kevin Trudeau’s hCG Diet, Phase 3

For Kevin Trudeau’s hCG diet devotees, you will begin your actual diet of the hCG protocol by following Dr. Simeons hCG diet food list, only eating organic and hormone free foods.

During KT’s phase 3 protocol, you will also continue to do colonics. 15 colonics are suggested, aiding in further detoxing of the body and in promoting weight loss.

You will also take the hCG diet supplements. Supplements include Krill oil, L-Carnitine, CoralCal, and Natural Calm.

@coreen hobbs, For cravings the best thing to do is a Candida Cleanse prior to a new round. Generally uncontrolled cravings is more of a Candida overgrowth and some of it is related to habit. But Do the cleanse and see if that helps during the break he should notice his cravings start to diminish. I'd also do some quick reading on on Candida overgrowth what I have is just the surface.

I just wanted to chime in, since I started about the same time and have lost nearly 30 pounds. I don't cheat (although, I must admit, I had a little extra milk because I needed a few cups of coffee a couple of days because I needed the caffeine for a long conference weekend). I didn't loose anything that weekend, but I stayed awake, and didn't gain anything! Dez is so right, You have to have the proper HCG. My friend used the homeopathic stuff and it was like an appetite suppressant, made her nervous, she lost some muscle but gained it back in fat. I'm losing bad fat. My face is not sunk in like it gets on a regular diet. I am using the drops that are sold on this site. They tested positive for HCG. I am a lifelong super sweet tooth. I'm not a big fan of water. With the HCG Drops, I am not hungry at all, and have no cravings. I can watch a pizza or cupcake commercial and not get hungry or obsess about it or other foods, AT ALL!! This is a huge difference for me. I now believe that I will succeed after the protocol is finished, because now I realize that this is not all hype, so far everything has happened the way it is described. I got a mild annoying headache for a day, and everything has been fine since. I can wear shorts! I also use stevia. You have to be careful not to use too much. I use the Sweetleaf brand liquid drops. I love the Root Beer and Chocolate flavored drops. Mixed with water, they taste like Root Beer or Chocolate milk.
Hey, I started the diet February 21 and have only lost 12 pounds but I have cheated on several occasions. I have a problem with sweet, should I have lost more weight by now because it has now been 36 days and I want to loose a total of 40 pounds all together can you please help me or give me some advice on what I need to do. I am going to Hawaii in May and want to be at my goal weight 140 by then please help......I don't think I'm doing this right
@Dena, I totally misunderstood so I'm editing my 1st response. YOU have to cut the sweets, you won't lose like that and you are just wasting money and time by not following the plan. Did you do a Candida cleanse prior to starting? That really does help with sweet cravings. Yes we can help you work through this, but I have to know what hCG are you using if doing drops? If doing injections how much are you taking? And have to know are you willing to follow the rules of the diet and suggestions we make?
@Dez, thanks for your quick response! No i didn't do the cleanse because I wasn't aware if it, is it to late now since I have been on it now for 36 days? I am doing the spray. Yes, I am willing to follow the rules but my sweet cravings gets hard sometimes do you have any suggestions? Do I stay on phase 2 or do I skip and go straight to phase 3?
@Dena, You are welcom. The spray has no hCG in it. That's the 1st issue. You can test it yourself with a pregnancy test strip. Real hCG will test positive for pregnancy. Homeopathic contains 0 hCG in it. Well it is kinda too late you need to cleanse prior to. You can do it now it's just not ideal. Okay 1st use real hCG oral or injections, you need a minimum of 125 iu per day. What are you eating? Are you using Splenda or Stevia? Stevia is best but not any brand that has sugar alcohol like Truvia (I think that is the spelling). Avoid things that are causing you cravings, if it's strawberries or oranges than avoid them. I can tell you what to do but without real hCG it's not going to work out well. How many more days do you have?
I just began Phase 3 of my HCG diet. This is my second go round. My first after Thanksgiving, I lost 30 pounds. With the holidays and a couple trade shows, I gained back 10 pounds. I began my second round a month ago and after 28 days, I lost the maximum of 40 pounds. I am now on the 72 hours after the drops. Any recommended time on the best date to go back on the diet. I would like to lose another 40 pounds and I will be right were I need to be. Also any suggestions on the best way to keep it off after I get to my goal?
@Gary, Yes, 2nd round you need to wait 6 weeks between hCG Diet rounds.
