hCG Diet Phase 3

Depending on which hCG diet protocol you are following, this is a very critical phase. It's critical for Dr. Simeons followers and critical for The Weight Loss Cure followers, and for those that take a little from each and combine the two hCG diet protocols.
If you lost the weight you wanted and don’t need another round, this will be your maintenance phase. If you have more to lose this, it will be part of your first round of the hCG protocol.
Again, if you’re just gathering information about the hCG diet for weight loss, you may want to read hCG Diet Phase 1, then hCG Diet Phase 2 before reading this post. If you have been waiting for us to finally write this, then here it is!

Dr. Simeons’ hCG Diet Phase 3

Now that you have lost weight, this becomes the critical phase for two reasons. One, if you have lost all the weight you wanted, you want to maintain your loss. Two, if you have more to lose, you want to maintain your loss and continue to lose. Either way, hCG diet phase 3 is where you reset the hypothalamus.

The rules are pretty easy. Eat whatever you want, watch your weight, stay within 2 pounds of your total loss. If you gain more than you should, do an apple day or steak day. BUT the reality is that eating whatever you want is not the smartest way to maintain your loss.

If you eat cookies, fast food, chips, dips, pizza, cake, and cookies, the weight will come back. Liposuction, Lap Band, and Gastric Bypass people all regain weight if they ‘go back’ to eating the way they did before.

If you lift weights, you will gain muscle, then the 2 pounds may not apply either because muscle weighs more than fat. This is why taking your measurements is just as important as scale weight.

The reality is that maintaining your weight loss is an Inconvenient Life style change and a commitment to that change. The hCG diet protocol gives you a huge advantage because you have learned a lot about portion control, a different way of cooking, a different way of nourishing your body, and you have substantially decreased your taste for sweets. All these things are to your advantage as your real challenge commences. Your Life Style Change.

If you have more to lose, you will stay on phase 3 for 3 weeks but wait various times between your next round of oral hCG or hCG Injections. For example, when you end your first round of the hCG protocol, you stay on hCG diet phase 3 for 3 weeks but wait 6 weeks to restart.

When you end your second round you wait 8 weeks to restart the hCG diet protocol.  And when you end your third round of the protocol, you wait 12 weeks before starting your fourth round. This comes from the Pounds and Inches manuscript and is strict Dr. Simeons' protocol.

You may see around the web, on other sites, or at your hCG diet clinic, people who do 3 weeks between rounds or even not stopping until they have lost the weight. This is not meant to debate what is right or wrong but simply to give you Dr. Simeons’ method.

The #1 question that persists with this phase of the hCG diet is “What Do I Eat?.” If you have read a previous post, After The hCG Diet, then you know it’s not an easy question to answer, and Dr. Simeons didn’t elaborate. In general, the best choices keep company in the low carb realm (this includes low carb variations such as South Beach, 40/30/30, etc.), eating in moderation, and eating healthy Omega 3 fats and mono-saturated fats, like olive oil.

If you are finished with the diet, and lost all you wanted, then these rules apply; if you have more weight to lose, then these rules apply. Just watch what you eat, eat in moderation, make healthy choices and make a life style change.

Kevin Trudeau’s hCG Diet, Phase 3

For Kevin Trudeau’s hCG diet devotees, you will begin your actual diet of the hCG protocol by following Dr. Simeons hCG diet food list, only eating organic and hormone free foods.

During KT’s phase 3 protocol, you will also continue to do colonics. 15 colonics are suggested, aiding in further detoxing of the body and in promoting weight loss.

You will also take the hCG diet supplements. Supplements include Krill oil, L-Carnitine, CoralCal, and Natural Calm.

You wills till need to be on the hCG Diet Phase 3 for 3 weeks.  IF you have another round to do you would wait 6 weeks after Phase 3 then move back to Phase 1.  IF after hCG diet phase 3 your are done then you can go back to normal eating.


When you start the second round of the injections do you still load with all types of food(starches and sugar) or just eat extra protein, fat and fruit?

You always start with P1 then go to P2 the P3, regarless of how many rounds you have to do P1 comes 1st.

I recently lost 21 pounds on the hcg diet. I have been on phase 3 for 4 days. I have followed sugars, no carbs. I know I am eating more but probably still haven't made it to 1000 calories yet and I've gained 2 pounds! I have started exercising--using the elliptical and some basic yoga---could this be why I am gaining?

Yes water retention, muslce building.  If you are going to exercise take your measurments and dump the scale.  It will drive you crazy.

I just started P3. I have lost 31 lbs thus far. A search of the net revealed that I should be consuming approximately 2400-2500 calories a day to maintain my current weight. I consumed 2100 yesterday, took a 2.5 mile walk and was fairly active at work. This morning I woke up and weighted in at 1.8 lbs heavier than yesterday. Any suggestions. There was no dairy or excessive fat in the 2100 calories other than a couple teaspoons of peanut butter on an apple.
@Ben, Well don't go buy what you should be consuming go by the quality of food you eat, healthy fats, good quality proteins and fresh fruits and vegetables. We suggest 1,500 calories for P3 with a focus on healthy fats and proteins, low carb veggies and fruits. Remember P3 is no sugar no starch so you will have to watch that. Real our P3 hCG Diet Food List. You can do a steak day but it also could be water retention. How much water are you consuming?
Dez! I've said it before & I'll say it again... I could NOT have gone through this program without you. Thanks! I've made it to day 33 of phase 2 and I'm preparing for phase 3... mostly by reading every post in this section going back for months. My sense is that the REAL and sustaining benefit of this program occurs in phase 3. This is a relief because I have ended up traveling 20 of the past 33 days. This is NOT a simple program to follow on the road. I have managed to lose 28 pounds, despite the challenges (made infinitely easier by this site). Transitioning to phase 3 - I've got a couple of questions: Q1) I'm afraid of phase 3 and really just want to keep eating the exact same foods I have been, only without the food scale and worries about repeating foods two days in a row or mixing things at the same meal. Is there a phase 3 requirement for additional foods in order to reset the hypothalamus or am I ok to just continue with phase 2 foods? Q2) Does the 42 day count start with phase 1 or phase 2 (ie - do I stop on R1P2D40 or R1P2D42)? I'll be on another business trip and I'd rather not be in the 3 day "dismount" during that time if possible. Q3) I first thought the "no massage" rule was related to massage oils on the skin, but "Pounds & Inches" explains that it's about the toxin breakdown. I'm assuming the toxin breakdown happens during all weight loss, but is most sensitive when on the drops. Do you know if there is a wait time after Phase 2 before resuming massages? Thank you!!!
@Elle, GREAT!!!!! Good going!!! 1. Okay don't be afraid of P3. You won't need the scale and you can repeat foods. There isn't a requirement for adding foods just don't eat sugar and starch foods during this time and you will be fine. Here is a link for Phase 3 hCG diet foods 2. 42 days starts with P1 that 1st loading day and then the last 3 days you don't take the hCG to get it out of your system, that last day would end the on the 42 day. Remember after P3 there is a 6 weeks wait time to start another round. That may help. 3. I would wait till after P3 to start up with a massue. HTH
I am on Day 8 of Phase 3, I had a busy day and was not near any healthy food so all day I ate a large amount of almonds and nut mix at night came home and had a large steak and cucumber salad. Yesterday I was up 2.8 pounds from 136 to 138.8. I followed with a Steak day and only lost .6 this morning. Does this mean my new set weight this morning is 138.2? Can I bring that back down?
