The second most asked question about the hCG diet protocol is, “What food can I eat on the hCG diet?”

We’ve broken down a list of allowed foods for the hCG diet. If you are ever in doubt, refer back to Dr. Simeons Pounds and Inches, or this list hCG diet food as a reminder.

You can use a variety of seasonings to spice up your foods, when cooking.  Just read labels and avoid spices and seasoning with added sugar, fat and MSG.  And you can purchase an hCG diet cookbook from the hCG Diet Store to prevent yourself from getting into a cooking rut.

A cooking rut or boredom can be a reason for diet failure.

Fowl 3.5 ounces /100 grams

Chicken Breast = 87 calories
Turkey, Dr. Simeons does not list Turkey or other fowl on the hCG diet.

Seafood 3.5 ounces/100 grams

Cod = 83 calories
Real Crab Meat = 100 calories (Imitation crab meat is NOT ALLOWED because it is very high in carbs, and is processed.  NOT good for Phase 2 or 3)
Flounder = 90 calories
Haddock = 88 calories
Halibut = 110 calories
Lobster = 98 calories
Red Snapper = 110 calories
Shrimp = 110 calories
Tilapia = 94 calories
Lemon Sole =116 calories

All proteins must be weighed on your scale. There isn't a standard weight to proteins it all depends on the size, cut, thickness etc.

Navel Orange = 69 calories

Pink California Grapefruit = 92 calories

Bread 1 piece = 1 serving

1 Grissini Bread stick = 12 calories
1 Melba Toast = 12 calories

For the hCG diet 1 bread stick or Melba Toast = 1 Serving.  You are only allowed 1 serving per meal.

@vanessa, Honestly, this may not be the diet for you. You will get board of lettuce very quickly and start cheating. Find a diet that you can live with, where you like the food and you will find success.

Hello I am just starting my diet I am 3 days in and so far so good. But I would like to stay in the guidelines of the diet, I also want to know if we can use lean ground turkey, I had a 31/2 oz. pattie with some spinach and some cherries for my lunch hopefully the turkey didn’t hurt me.
Ok so I am allergic to the vegetables that are allowed on this program, what if anything can I do to get the calories needed without stalling progress. And make this hungry feeling stop more. I will try the stevia for appetite control a bit but am just having a hard time figuring out what to do with the limited vegetable options I am able to eat with my allergies. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
I just finished my 2 load days and am now starting the diet protocol. Do you think this is OK? I take ice, water, real vanlla extract, 2 packs of Truvia and blend. This makes a great evening slushie. I want to make certain it is OK for the protocol though
@ Topaz: IF you like it, it's not causing you to stop losing and not increasing your cravings, Go for it! Real extract, does it have alcohol? That is something to watch for while on the hCG diet.
The link for the Miracle Noodles isn’t working and I’m very curious. Also, I just heard today that chicken or beef broth is a free “food” as well, so you could make a very simple soup!
