hCG Diet Holiday Break

Well it is that time of year that dieting becomes difficult for most. The top questions right now are; How do you take a break on the hCG diet? How do you cheat on the hCG diet? What happens when you cheat on the hCG diet? I am planning to cheat on the hCG diet? How do you recover from a hCG diet cheat? And well you get it, most want to break for Thanksgiving, are planning on cheating, or want to make sure they can recover.

Rest assured this article will help guide you through the ins and outs of breaking, cheating, and recovery on the hCG Diet.

hCG Diet Break

Dr. Simeons does address a break or interruption on the hCG diet after 20 injections or oral hCG.

“If an interruption of treatment lasting more than four days is necessary, the patient must increase his diet to at least 800 calories by adding meat, eggs, cheese, and milk to his diet after that third day, as otherwise he will find himself so hungry and weak that he is unable to go about his usual occupation. If the interval lasts less than two weeks the patient can directly resume injections and the 500-caloire diet, but if the interruption lasts longer he must again eat normally until he has had his third injection.

When a patient knows beforehand that he will have to travel and be absent for more than four days, it is always better to stop injections three days before he is due to leave so that he can have the three days of strict dieting which are necessary after the last injection at home.”

What this means is if you are planning to go away for the Thanksgiving Day holiday or even Christmas holiday and you don’t want to be on the hCG diet during that time, follow the instructions above. Stop injections or oral hCG as you would when you are at the end of the hCG Diet Phase 2. However, you should still follow the no starch or sugar rule.

hCG Diet Planned Cheat

If you are just planning to cheat on Thanksgiving Day only, DO NOT INJECT or take the ORAL hCG. hCG takes about 3 days to totally leave your system and you may gain rapidly during that cheat time. Missing one dose won’t hurt, especially if you are going to have a planned cheat day.

After a planned cheat, you may gain weight or you may lose weight. No I am not talking in circles, the Leptin Theory plays a role in the answer. Who will gain or who will lose, we can’t answer that. It is truly a YMMV (Your Mileage May Vary) as we are all individuals.

hCG Diet Cheat Recovery

After you have cheated or had your planned break, the next thing is to recover and get back on the hCG diet ASAP. Take your gains, suck it up and ride the pony to your goal with strict dieting from this cheat fourth.

Increase you exercise routine, add an extra 30 min to your activity. If you don’t exercise then start until the scale is moving again.
Increase your water intake.
Use some natural diuretics to rid your body of any water gains.
Cut the break sticks and Melba toast.
Use an Apple day or Steak Day the day you get back on hCG injections or Oral hCG.

Conclusion

Dieting isn’t easy and the hCG diet is hardcore. But there is a reason you decided to do this diet, there is a reason you chose now to lose weight. Whatever your goal is, use that to guide you back on your track, keep you focused and you will obtain your desired result.

 

@Cassidy, Eat before you go the allowed foods, While there eat from the salad bar only and avoid the foods that are on the hCG diet food list.
lost 16lbs. stopped drops on Friday am had a terrible cheat weekend and scale is up 6 lbs what do I do? Cheated on the beginning of Phase 3 and feel awful help:(
@janet, You have to get back on track. Cut the carbs, cut the sugars, do a steak day. It's up to you and I think deep down you know that. Cheating happens, but you have to recover and make up your mind if you want to carry the extra weight or do you really want to be thinner and have better eating habits.
Hi, I did 17 days of shots - got down to my goal weight. I ate / drank horribly and packed on 5lbs in 2 days. I let 50+ hours go by w/out shots before eating really bad. I'd like to get back on, finish a 23 day round which would mean 6 more injections. However, not sure if there is a way to resume or if I need to wait 6 weeks? I am 5lbs away from my goal weight. If I can resume, do I load again, etc?

I'm kind of an a "planned interruption" as I ran out of drops last Monday and just ordered new ones on Saturday. I was on my 1st round of P2 for about 30 days and would like to start again on Sunday (if I get my drops before then). I am planning on doing a "mini load" on Saturday, but know that the following Saturday I will be having a planned cheat day (hubby bought a dinner package for V day) and then will be breaking for President's Day Weekend for 4 days. I have been doing pretty well on P3 this week and have 2 questions...or 3... 1. Is it ok to do a planned cheat and then 4 days later a 4 day planned break, or am I totally going to mess up my metabolism (I only want to lose about 10 more pounds). 2. If I start exercising this week can I continue exercising when I start back on P2 in just a few days? Thanks!!
@Lauren, Day 1 of phase 3 for me. Do i stop taking the drops now? I have lost 35 pounds but would like to lose 30 more and have done the diet on my own. I just found your site and would love some help.
@rayann, You should stop the drops 3 days before the end of P2. So if you did 26 days that would be day 23 no drops but 500 calories and if you did 42 days then day 39. On P3 you do 21 days then wait 6 weeks to start anther round. Sure help is here and on the Facebook page.
@Lauren, The cheat will stall your goal but no you won't mess your metabolim up. No don't exercise in P2, will cause stall due to water retention. Light exercise like walking.
I have 11 days left of phase 2 my friend and I shared 2 bottles of wine the other night. Stressfull day.. What do I do to recover? I feel bloated I have been drinking lots of water. Will that help or am I doomed
